The warmest of welcomes in this tropical get away in the heart of Cambodia!

Arriving here, on the free tuk tuk the hotel provides of course, we were greeted like celebrities at the door. Bags carried to our rooms as we sat down with the hotel manager. Healthy and revitalising drinks turned up in front of us alongside a welcome cool towel as our check in was processed and we were introduced to the city. Mr. Kim knew we had actually been in Siem Reap a few days over at his business partners hostel, the amazing Oasis Capsules, but still made sure all our remaining questions were answered as well as advising us on Cambodia in general.

After a tour of the amazing hotel grounds we were then greeted by a knock on the door, a refreshing and healthy fruit basket! It’s this sort of welcome that really makes you feel like all your needs are catered for.

Paradise within this ancient city

Surrounded by coconut trees, mangrove bushes and tropical flowers you would be forgiven for thinking you are bathing in the jungle rather than a busy city. The lush surroundings by the pool however are well tended by the dedicated gardeners and offer a relaxing paradise away from the dry heat of Siem Reap. The whole resort is cultivated and designed to create a peaceful paradise that feels a million miles away from the chaos of the city! Each room is modern, slick and sleek offering a cool place to lay your head!

A place to take away the efforts of the day

Siem Reap is a beautiful, magical and wonderful city, but it can also be loud, dusty and it often feels like it never pauses for a moment! Exploring the majestic temples is like stepping back in time to discover a lost world of wonder. Visiting the nearby, or in our case further afield floating villages is to peer into a civilisation so much different to your own. And to spend a night on”Pub Street” is a chaotic whirlwind of sights, noises and lights. Siem Reap has so much to offer but it takes it out of you and leaves you in need of some rest and relaxation.

But here at La Residence Blanc D’Angkor they have you covered. Spend a few hours laying poolside or taking a dip in the refreshing waters,  take the tension out of your aching muscles with one of their professional massages, soak in the huge bath tub then order world class cuisine both Khmer or international. But if non of that takes your fancy then the huge comfortable beds will guarantee a peaceful nights sleep!

Somewhere from which to explore this wonderful city

With so much to offer in Siem Reap you can be forgiven for being spoilt for choice and wondering how you will fit it all in and even how you might get to some of these far off wonders. Well, have no fear. At La Residence Blanc D’Angkor they have their own Tuk Tuk drivers meaning that you know you’re not getting ripped off or sent somewhere you didn’t quite plan on!

The hotel staff are all locals, employed by the owners who are passionate about creating employment opportunities in the communities they grew up in. As such they are experts on the country and the region, from organising tours, transport and guides they can also offer you priceless information and tips to make sure you don’t miss out on a thing!

The diversity of this most welcoming of countries!

Cambodia has been through some rough times and is still very much in recovery. A nation which could so easily be defined by its poverty is instead a rich country in so many other ways. Offering unrivalled history, culture and an insight into ways of living so many other places have lost. Cambodia also has to be one of the most welcoming and friendly countries in the world.

Having survived the worst of humanity the Khmer people have risen from the other side with a warmth and openness that will fill your heart as soon as you arrive. But this budget destination isn’t just for backpackers on the South East Asia trail, the luxury resort of La Residence Blanc D’Angkor just goes to prove the diversity of accommodation on offer here!

Have you ever stayed in such amazing surroundings that really made you not want to leave!?
